Tales of wine and Aldi and Leitz

23. April 2018

When Europe’s leading food discounter Aldi Süd shelves the famed wine of Riesling-Star Johannes Leitz, it is a synergy of grandeur – one that hits a chord, but requires a strong brand that can stand its ground with Aldi’s increasing focus on quality.

In short: That’s what Leitz and Fuenfwerken created when we designed a brand for Leitz’ Rheingau Riesling that instantly rose to the top of Aldi’s product range. Utilizing authentic storytelling, we communicate the unique terroir of the Rheingau and its characterful soil directly on a wine label that is an attraction on its own. It’s exquisite materials translate into a haptic that rivals that of much higher segments and with hand-drawn illustrations it fosters its own uniqueness in an oftentimes trivial discounter environment.

This way the Rheingau Riesling is unmistakable to fans of Leitz wine, but at the same time introduces a much wider audience to the world of high quality VDP-wine.
